Description

Hi:

My name is gammaray, admin of q2 chilean server and q2admin plug-in ac.

and im wondering if is possible to add support to quake II, i think this would be awesome, since the community of quake II is raising again, and this tool can be very useful, already spoke with some admin over the world (most people from UK and nt) and they are very exiting.

all quake2 players will be very happy if this is made.

thanks for the time reading this.

greetings.

I have no idea about q2.
Basically, there will be required changes in server client and qtv.
Not even sure that q2 have server side recording.

On hold until we have more information on what would be needed but I doubt it will be done unless Q2 server has recording feature.
How big is Q2 community?

Since this feature requires changes to the 1) client 2) server software and 3) QTV itself, a new fork should have to be added, call it Q2TV or whatever. Regarding the changes:

1) Is Q2 client open source, can it playback multiview demos?

2) How about Q2 server software, is it able to record multiview demos?

3) One could always try to force the streaming from server to QTV similar to that of MVDSV's but I doubt it would be easy job.

Whatever the answers are to those questions above, one thing still remains: the manpower. We have absolutely no resources or time to start fixing stuff for another game we have no (technical) experience of. So in the end the task would be up to Q2 server/clientside coders if there are any. Feel free to use our MVDSV, KTX and QTV sources to have some example about the functions/code it requires, it's open source after all, but this is something I'm not willing to spend our limited resources for.
